Concebido como obra de referencia universitaria, el libro busca cubrir el vac\u00edo existente durante a\u00f1os en la bibliograf\u00eda musicol\u00f3gica espa\u00f1ola sobre esta disciplina, que con la incorporaci\u00f3n de la musicolog\u00eda a la universidad se consolid\u00f3 como materia troncal en la formaci\u00f3n de los estudiantes. Esta tercera edici\u00f3n, corregida y ampliada, re\u00fane m\u00e1s de trescientas p\u00e1ginas impresas y materiales adicionales descargables, con abundante documentaci\u00f3n bibliogr\u00e1fica y ejemplos que permiten al lector aproximarse de forma sistem\u00e1tica al an\u00e1lisis cultural de la m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"1636\">La obra se organiza en dos grandes bloques. En la primera parte, titulada <em data-start=\"867\" data-end=\"899\">Hacia el di\u00e1logo intercultural<\/em>, el autor traza un recorrido hist\u00f3rico por las principales corrientes te\u00f3ricas de la etnomusicolog\u00eda, desde los antecedentes de la musicolog\u00eda comparada hasta los enfoques contempor\u00e1neos. Se examinan debates sobre la terminolog\u00eda del campo \u2014m\u00fasica popular, tradicional o folkl\u00f3rica\u2014, el papel de la Escuela de Berl\u00edn en la constituci\u00f3n de la disciplina y las aportaciones de figuras fundamentales como Alan Merriam, John Blacking o B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k. Tambi\u00e9n se abordan perspectivas recientes relacionadas con la antropolog\u00eda de la m\u00fasica, la performance, los estudios simb\u00f3licos, el pensamiento posmoderno o las transformaciones culturales provocadas por procesos como la migraci\u00f3n, la globalizaci\u00f3n o los fen\u00f3menos de revival y folklorismo.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"2407\">La segunda parte se centra en la metodolog\u00eda de la investigaci\u00f3n etnomusicol\u00f3gica y analiza el trabajo de campo como n\u00facleo de la disciplina. Se describen las fases del proceso investigador \u2014planificaci\u00f3n, documentaci\u00f3n, grabaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis\u2014 y se revisan diferentes m\u00e9todos de transcripci\u00f3n y estudio de la m\u00fasica de tradici\u00f3n oral. El libro examina igualmente diversas propuestas anal\u00edticas desarrolladas en el \u00e1mbito internacional, desde las primeras transcripciones sistem\u00e1ticas hasta modelos estructurales y comparativos aplicados a repertorios musicales de distintas culturas.
